Chris Paul is the Design Director of the Lotus User Experience Design Group, an eclectic blend of artists, designers and engineers. Chris began his career with IBM in 1995 and has held a number of product design roles, including user-interface design lead for: Lotus BeanMachine (IBM's first visual java applet builder), WebSphere Studio, WebSphere Site Analyzer, Pervasive Computing and WebSphere Portal. These days, he spends most of his waking hours working with a group of really smart engineers and designers on LotusLive

Chris holds a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Yale School of Art. His thesis work explored the element of context in user-interface design and how designers can exploit the metaphorical and physical context of a virtual space to increase learnability and intuitiveness.

In 2004, Chris was named an IBM Master Inventor for his significant contributions to IBM's intellectual property portfolio.

In his spare time, Chris likes to abandon modern technology to cast lead type and print letterpress.
